History:

Natural Energy Company was founded by Dr. James DeMeo in 1971 as a solar-energy and wind-power equipment and installation firm, in South Florida. His later university employment in the field of Environmental Science and Geography, and his expanded interests in the life-energy (orgone) research of Dr. Wilhelm Reich led to the re-creation of Natural Energy Works in 1986, as a means to supply his students with hard-to-get books on such subjects, which the university bookstores often could not obtain through the usual textbook-distribution networks. Natural Energy Works also later began publishing new books and videos of its own, also on controversial scientific subjects, as well as offering sensitive meters for detection of low-level nuclear and electromagnetic radiations.

After retiring from formal and full-time university work and moving to California in 1988, and with the growth of the Orgone Biophysical Research Lab (OBRL) which he founded ten years earlier, Natural Energy Works served as the bookstore and instrument-shop for OBRL, providing the same hard-to-find books and items to a growing network of students and professionals with similar interests. Once global internet came of age, and with the founding of DeMeo's high-altitude laboratory and educational OBRL Greensprings Center in the mountains of Southern Oregon, Natural Energy Works expanded its offerings to a global community. Today, Natural Energy Works provides what is perhaps the most comprehensive offerings on controversial scientific and life-energy-related subjects, including books, DVDs, meters, solar-energy devices, and selected items to make your world beautiful!
