Experimental Life Energy Field Meter, Model LM4

Several YouTube Demo Clips are given below.

The New LM4 Model of the Experimental Life Energy Meter is fully portable and battery powered. You can hold it in one or two hands, and scan objects or people with it, without the interference of power-supply wires as was the case with earlier models. It can also be used on a desk or bench-top, and has the shape and feeling of a typical multi-meter. A heavy-duty rubber cushion protects the units against bumps.

The new LM4 will work with all prior Electrodes. A small "Blue Square" Electrode is built into the unit. When laid flat on its back or stood up using the rear support in the case, one can measure the strength of the hand, or any other object which is brought close to that plate, or set upon it -- as with liquid samples. It also comes with an external Glass Tube Electrode, plugged into the front-nose of the instrument, which is best for hand-held usage, to scan or measure stationary objects. A special grounding wire is included which further increases the sensitivity.

Several accessory options are also available separately, described below. These include an optional Large Plate Electrode for measuring larger objects or the whole human body, a Clip-On Plant Electrode, a Point-Spot Electrode useful for various purposes (including identification of acupuncture points), a new Amplifying Filter that increases sensitivity to bioenergy fields while reducing sensitivity to water or metals, and lab-ware supplies for more careful and demanding measures of liquids or other samples (see below).

The LM4 unit can be used in the field as a hand-held sensor, or on a desktop, or within a laboratory, for various purposes. The LM4 has the same external probe inputs and selector switches as prior models, and also the same external analog data output port. The LM4 runs off 4 AA batteries which provide about 50 hours of continuous use.

Further Discussion:

Have you ever wondered what it is about living things that distinguishes them from non-living matter? Evidence from many sources today demonstrates that living creatures are charged with a life-energy, and possess a measurable energy field; in fact, all matter and substance, whether living or not, contains some quantity of this same energy, which is not electromagnetic in nature, and cannot be easily detected by conventional methods. In the 1940s, the scientist Wilhelm Reich developed an orgone (life-energy) field meter, using high-voltage induction coils to excite a detector plate, by which he demonstrated the existence and quantity of life-energy charge in people, plants and various objects. Our new Experimental Life-Energy Field Meter uses a similar principle, but with modern solid-state circuitry and much lower voltages which eliminate the need for bulky induction coils as used in Reich's original apparatus.

The LM4 Experimental Life Energy Field Meter detects energy fields which influence the internal Blue Square Electrode sensor, or which enter through a special Glass Tube Electrode, or other electrodes plugged in at the nose-front of the instrument. By moving people or objects towards or away from the various electrodes (ie, your hand), one can get an objective measure of the extent and strength of their energy field. By setting the meter in a fixed location, and setting people or objects near to it at a set distance, one can develop a quantitative sense for the relative strength of the energy field, or note variations in the readings over time. Under controlled conditions, comparisons between one person or object, and another, are also possible.

The instrument has five different scales of sensitivity (x1, x10, x100, x1K, x2K) through a range selector switch, with both fine and coarse controls for calibrating the meter to zero prior to making readings. An optional grounding wire easily attached, and described in the instructions, boosts the sensitivity overall by several times over. The instrument can easily pick up human energy fields, from the hand, torso, head and other body parts, at distances of up to around 2-foot distance using the grounding wire and internal Blue Square Electrode, or the external Glass Tube Electrode. Detections at up to a one-meter or yard distance is possible with the optional Large Plate Electrode accessory (not included), which can also be used to measure the field strength or charge of the body, or of larger objects. Liquid samples and smaller objects such as fruits, foodstuffs and soil samples, may also be measured for their life-energy charge or field strength by placing them directly upon the internal Blue Square Electrode, or by use of appropriate containers for liquids (see the Accessory items, below). At the most sensitive scales using the grounding wire, the meter will pick up background charge of the atmosphere, the fluctuations in which can be output to a data recording devices through a provided output jack.

Measuring Tips for the Life Energy Meter, and Large Plate Electrode Experiments.

Measuring the Increase in Life-Energy Within a Closed Vial of Growing Yeast.

The Experimental Life-Energy Field Meter meter works along entirely new principles quite different from any other measuring device currently on the market. Is entirely different from ordinary "EM-field" meters. It is not responsive to electromagnetic fields, nor to static magnetic or electrostatic fields. An electrostatically-charged plastic comb or wand, for example, will show no reactions at the Life Energy Field Meter, other than what would occur from the same plastic comb or wand being held in your hand and moved close to the LM4, without the electrostatic charge. This is quite different from the usual voltmeter, which reacts strongly to electrostatic fields, but only weakly and temporarily to your hand. Likewise, no greater readings will be developed between an ordinary piece of metal, or the same piece of metal strongly magnetized. The Life Energy Field Meter responds only to the presence of living organisms, and also more weakly to liquid water, and to moisture-bearing or metal-containing materials which as Reich demonstrated, are strong absorbers and reflectors of atmospheric orgone energy. The Life Energy Field Meter will, for example, respond strongly to the field from a nearby orgone energy blanket, or orgone accumulator, with a general indication of the relative strength of charge. A human weighing 150 pounds standing on the Large Plate Electrode (see the YouTube videos above) will yield a stronger reading than a large container filled with 150 pounds of water. Growing yeast in a sealed tube will yield a slow increase in readings, proportional to the growth. A dying leaf will show a slow decline in readings, even if sealed inside a plastic bag to preserve its moisture content. And so on. However, much research is needed before we can be too declarative, beyond these general statements. Consequently we consider the LM4 to be an experimental device. New controlled laboratory experiments are being conducted today, as seen in the YouTube videos above, for later presentation in scientific journals.

This is a first-generation research instrument, for the life-energy enthusiast, scientific experimenter or clinician interested in bio-field phenomenon. Each meter is hand-made by our associate scientist-engineer in Canada, Mr. Dave Marett of Heliognosis, who firstly developed this solid-state replication of the original larger induction-powered Orgone Energy Field Meter of Wilhelm Reich. They are housed in plastic case with rubber protector, as pictured, similar to a standard multi-meter.

Additional Technical Background and Description:

In 1947, Wilhelm Reich, MD published The Cancer Biopathy, detailing his research in visualizing and applying orgone energy. In this work, he described a device which he called the Orgone Energy Field Meter, which responded to living things as they were brought close to the device. The Life Energy Field Meter, developed by an electronics engineer with decades of experience in life-energy research, is based on the same principle as Reich's device and has been made into a portable hand-held or table-top instrument.

This device is useful for many experimental applications in the scientific and health-research fields because of its sensitivity and dynamic range. Several scales are provided, for weaker life fields and for progressively stronger fields. The x1 range is intended for basic measuring of individual living, organic and inorganic samples, such as humans and animals to plants and solutions. The user can then zoom in to make comparative measurements using the x10 and x100 ranges. The zero point is continuously adjustable to allow both relative percent and +/- readings, making comparisons between different samples. The x1K range allows for the detection of very weak or distant fields with stability. The x1k and 2K ranges are intended for monitoring the ethereal fluctuations in the surrounding space or atmosphere of the sensor. By using the provided grounding wire, the overall sensitivity of all ranges is boosted by from 2x to 3x of normal.

The LM4 can also be "zeroed" at 10x or 100x with a blank or control of known low reading. So for example you can set a full vial of distilled water on the Blue Plate Electrode, and "zero" it to 10%. If you then set another sammple taken from spring water, or city water, it will yield a higher readings over, approximately 30% to 90%, which can be compared one to the other.

The meter is provided with a Glass Tube Electrode which is inserted into the left-hand probe receptical on the "nose" of the unit, and is excellent for hand-held use or scanning objects or people. A 2 sq inch Blue Square Electrode is mounted inside the meter on the top front, and is for measuring objects and samples when the LM4 is resting on a table. A 2 sq foot Large Plate Electrode is also available as an optional accessory, for measuring larger objects or the entire human body, or for extending the distance by which detection can be made. Objects may be placed directly on the Large Plate or Blue Square Electrodes for comparison measurements. Human fields will be detected at around 2 ft using the provided external Glass Tube or internal Blue Square Electrodes, and around 1 meter or yard using the Large Plate Electrode accessory. A provided grounding wire boosts the sensitivity by from 2x to 3x the un-grounded condition. A selector switch on the front-nose of the unit should be placed in the "Small" position for the internal Blue Plate or external Glass Tube Electrode, or to the "Large" position for the optional external Large Plate Electrode. The middle position of the selector switch is for future hybrid electrodes under development. Experimenters may construct their own unique electrode configurations using a standard banana plug adapter. Please note that sensitivity of the device is proportional to plate area. Plate areas substantially different from those which we offer, and which use too large a wire diameter, may fall out of the useful range of the device.

There are no standards for the measurement of life-energy fields, and so the device is calibrated in percent units of full scale. A few of the possible experimental applications of this unique device are:

* basic demonstration of animal and plant life-energy fields
* measurement of the general overall vitality of an individual
* analysis of food product for relative energetic content
* study of plants and prediction of nutrient requirements
* comparison of energy field strengths of liquid solutions
* scientific research into life-processes
* testing of alternate energy devices for unconventional energy fields
* experimentation with orgone accumulators and blankets

Theory of Operation

The Life Energy Meter contains a very weak high-frequency low-voltage source (~20mHz at ~25 V and 1 microamp), which replaces the older induction coils as used by Reich in his original design. By Reich's theory and original meter, an energy field is set up between two capacitor plates, which then cause a connected electrical bulb to glow. Addition of the energy field of an object or person, increases the overall energy of the meter system, causing the bulb to glow more brightly. Addition of a photometer allowed for quantitative measures of the intensity of the glow, and ergo, the strength of the energy field of the person or object. Reich discovered how the excitation field of his orgone field meter was stronger when living matter was brought close to the capacitor plates, as opposed to non-living things, and stronger still in more vitally-alive people. He plotted the slow loss of readings as an aquarium fish died while on the plates, and a few other experiments. This is described in his book The Cancer Biopathy (1948, p.147-149)

By classical descriptions of the Life Energy Meter, the instrument generates a weak excitation "displacement current" field through the probe and into the surrounding space. The more this excited energy field is "absorbed" by the measured person or object brought close to the electrodes (vis: the "permittivity" of the object, by classical terms), the higher is the reading on the meter. While the specific details may require some additional years to experimentally clarify all the details, the LEM readings already verify Reich's observations about human vitality and life-energy. Water and metal also yield readings on the LEM, but living tissue with a high water content, or Living Water as from pure or natural sources, will always yield a higher reading for a given quantity of bulk water, or an equivalent mass of metal. Many tests have revealed, the Life Energy Meter is not sensitive to electromagnetic, magnetic, nuclear or electrostatic fields. It is detecting an entirely new parameter, found most strongly within living organisms, or matter more highly charged with life energy.

For Portable Use, In the Field

The new LM4 Experimental Life Energy Meter can be used at remote locations. The grounding wire can also be used in this portable field mode, by simply clipping it to a large long nail into the earth, or to a smaller nail in a tree or fence post. The included 4 AA Batteries will provide about 50 hours of continuous use, before they need replacement.

Note to Health Care Practitioners:

The Experimental Life Energy Field Meter is not sufficiently developed to be used with confidence for any kind of diagnostic purposes. We do not yet know its capacities or limitations. We have been asked, for example, if the meter can be used in place of subjective "muscle testing", to show more objective and measurable changes in human energy field strength before and after a person has been given a specific remedy, or exposed to a toxin. Or, we are asked if the meter will measure the difference in field strength of the liver area versus the kidney, etc. The short answer is: We do not know. While we have some preliminary indications the meter may ultimately be utilized for all of these purposes, at present, we cannot make any such claims. What is needed is for clinicians with an interest in the subject to test out the meter, and publish their results in scientific journals, after which a knowledge base can be built up. At this time, however, our emphasis is upon the word "Experimental".
