7. UPDATE 2019: ON THE NEW EMF/RF "GADGETS" CONTAMINATING YOUR HOME WITH SIGNIFICANT RADIO-FREQUENCY AND MICROWAVE "ELECTROSMOG" -- scroll down!

The steadily worsening RF/microwave-radiation pollution from all the wireless technologies and devices now present in and around our homes is not only becoming a serious threat to our own health - and a new major environmental pollutant - it also can adversely affects any orgone accumulator. We therefore recommend to pay particularly close attention to chapters 8 and 9 of the Orgone Accumulator Handbook, for information on how to use orgone accumulating devices safely in our modern living environment.

The Trifield and EM2 meter we mentioned in the book for measuring powerline and microwave radiation levels has been discontinued, and is replaced by two new and much better meters:

* The Trifield Meter TF2
* The Cornet Meter ED-88T Plus

Both meters allow you to evaluate the situation in your home or work environment, irrespective of orgone accumulators. You definitely do not want to sleep or work in an electrosmog environment, nor to place an orgone accumulator in a "hot spot" within your home. New documents providing guidance on these issues are also posted as PDFs for free download at the above meter webpages.

6. UPDATE 2014: LED BULBS ARE A ROTTEN ALTERNATIVE TO THE OLDER, BRIGHTER AND HEALTHIER INCANDESCENTS OR HALOGEN LIGHT BULBS

On p.101-102 of Orgone Accumulator Handbook (2010 revised 3rd Edition), there is an endorsement of LED light bulbs as a possible good alternative to incandescent bulbs. We must now withdraw that endorsement. These newer "energy efficient" LED light bulbs emit considerable radiofrequencies and therefore should be considered energetically toxic, similar to WiFi, cell phones and towers, or fluorescent bulbs and fixtures. You should protect yourself and any orgone accumulator devices from anything but short-term exposures to them. For more details, see here: http://obrlnews.wordpress.com/2014/04/02/led-bulbs-a-rotten-alternative-to-incandescents/

The EM2 Broadband RF and Trifield 100XE Meters:
If you want an excellent meter for measuring RF frequencies, to check out these issues yourself, see our Trifield 100XE or the EM2 Broadband RF meters. The Trifield is excellent for powerline frequencies, while the EM2 is best for radio frequencies as from these different toxic light bulbs, as well as cell towers and wifi. There are also several new YouTube demonstration videos on these problems posted up on the appropriate pages.

This problem has been corrected in the latest editions of the Orgone Accumulator Handbook, since early 2014.

5. UPDATE 2014: ERRATA CORRECTION ON SAFE EMF AND RF EXPOSURE LEVELS:

We recently discovered that some early copies of the 2010 revised 3rd Edition of theOrgone Accumulator Handbook contain a critical sentence with several errors. In the section on what constitutes safe levels of electromagnetic and radiofrequency fields, page 113, the second sentence from the top should be corrected (bolded parts) to read:

"Anything registering more than 1 milligauss (AC magnetic fields), or 20 volts/meter> (AC electric fields), or 0.1 µw/cm2 (microwatts of radiofrequency) is probably too much for a chronic long-term exposure..."

While implied in the discussion, we wanted to be sure everyone knew we were speaking about Alternating Current (AC) electrical fields, as from powerlines, and not static DC fields, as from a battery or magnet. Furthermore, the prior statement of "1 kilovolt/meter" was an outright error, and should read 10 volts/meter, again as AC fields, not DC as from a battery. And finally, the text editor misprinted "mw or milliwatts" instead of the correct µw/cm2 or microwatts. This symbol error may appear several times on pages 110-113.

This problem has been corrected in the latest editions of the Orgone Accumulator Handbook, since early 2014. If you purchased a copy with this error, return it to us and we will replace it without charge.

You can purchase the latest new edition of the Orgone Accumulator Handbook from Amazon and other on-line bookstores, or from our own in-house catalog, Natural Energy Works.

4. UPDATE 2013: OPTIMAL ORGONOTIC CONDITIONS:

Over the years I have been in communication with different experimenters who made excellect and carefully-constructed replications of Reich's original experiments, obtaining good results. This was not always the case. Sometimes, usually out of ignorance, a few individuals made use of improper materials or took short-cuts in their experimental protocols and procedures, typically in their construction of the orgone energy accumulator. Their deviations from the original designs and protocols of Reich's discoveries almost guaranteed a minimal result, or a claimed negative result. We know for example that an accumulator composed of copper or aluminum will have negative effects upon living creatures, as compared to one composed of ferromagnetic materials. Also, some sensitive orgone energy experiments show little or no results when undertaken at humidities above 50%. Electrosmog also can disturb orgone energy functions in the atmosphere, as well as within any orgone accumulator.

For such reasons, several years ago I introduced the concept of Optimal Orgonotic Conditions, to address these problems. In addition to all other standard scientific control procedures, the most exacting orgone accumulator experiments require low humidity (<50%), air clear of significant chemical pollutants, a generally higher altitude above any atmospheric haze-layer, preferably within forest regions, an effective distance (20-50 miles) from nuclear power plants, as well as a laboratory environment free from stray low-level electromagnetic fields ("electrosmog") as from fluorescent lights, computers, CRT devices, WiFi equipment, cell-phone tower RF, and so on. An orgone accumulator may work well in spite of some of these factors, but if it does not, then for more exacting work one must default to the more strict optimal initial conditions for valid results. This kind of laboratory situation was characteristic of Reich's Orgonon facility, at ~1600' elevation in the rural forested mountains of Rangeley, Maine. It is also true of my own OBRL-Greensprings facility, at ~4300' elevation in the forests of the Siskiyou Mountains, of rural Ashland, Oregon.

This prerequisite for the most optimal experimental results should be viewed in comparative contexts, as for example how astronomical observatories are constructed at remote high altitude locations, to get above the lower atmospheric haze layer, and away from city lights. Sensitive seismometers must also be located away from highways or cities, where heavy trucks create vibrations that contaminate their recordings with artifacts. Sensitive radiotelescopes must be located in regions where microwave communication devices, including cell phones and towers, or WiFi connections, are forbidden. Likewise, certain other experiments require going deep underground, to shield out the effects of temperature variations or weaker cosmic radiation. The prerequisites as given above for the most sensitive and precise results in orgone energy experiments is conceptually no different.

I have already discussed these issues in detail within my Orgone Accumulator Handbook, the revised 3rd edition of 2010, which has been most recently updated with such information.

3. UPDATE 2013: OPPOSING RECENT SLANDERS OF WILHELM REICH:

A series of absolutely horrible smears of Dr. Reich and his orgone energy accumulator were recently spread around the world in numerous mainstream newspaper and internet articles, following publication of the equally horrid book Adventures in the Orgasmatron and a copy-cat slander on UK Channel 4 program The Sex Researchers. These slanders appeared as a coordinated international attack by left-wing and pornographic extremists against Reich and his research legacy. For full details with a strong rebuttal, you will want to read our new book In Defense of Wilhelm Reich which goes into the details of that slander, defending Reich and exposing the dirty-minded agendas of his malicious critics, who frequently pose as "saints". You can get copies from here:
http://www.naturalenergyworks.net
or from your favorite booksource.

2. UPDATE 2012: WIKIPEDIA DISINFORMATION AND SLANDERS ABOUT WILHELM REICH, ORGONE ENERGY AND ORGONOMY:

Wikipedia entries are popular, but can be altered by virtually anyone who desires to scribble some deceit into them, or to erase legitimate and accurate materials which they object to. In recent years, several professionals and scholars who are studied in Reich's discoveries by personal experimental work have tried to introduce many facts about Reich's discoveries onto the Wikipedia pages. Also we tried adding numerous citations to the various studies successfully replicating Reich's experiments, only to have those materials fully erased by "skeptic club" members or their academic friends, often within minutes! We have since learned that the same "skeptic club" liars who have maliciously slandered Reich over decades, today dominate the Wikipedia pages. They apparently have nothing better to do with their time than to act as Inquisitors and Censors. Be forewarned. More information on Wikipedia lies and censorship is found here:

1. UPDATE 2008: NOTE ABOUT FIBERBOARD and "CELOTEX":

Early editions of the Orgone Accumulator Handbook mentioned use of the material "Celotex". Today we must issue a warning on this term. At one time, this material was made only from ground up sugar-cane husks. It was a fibrous material, mixed with glues and spread out to make sheets of fiber material with a lot of air space. It could be purchased in large 4 x 8 sheets, and had one side painted white. It was reasonably strong and flexible, and was usually cut with a razor box-cutter knife. When used for the outer layer of a box-like orgone accumulator, it was excellent, especially when painted with natural shelac or beeswax.

Today, "Celotex" is merely a brand name for the company which makes all sorts of products. You can purchase a "Celotex" plastic-metal insulation sheet, for example, which is terrible for orgone accumulator construction. So where the term "Celotex" is used in the older editions of the Handbook it only means the above-mentioned natural material composed of shredded plant fibers. Similar materials are available across the USA, in fact, without using the term "Celotex". They are often simply called "fiberboard" are often used for acoustical ceiling tiles (found in smaller 1-foot squares with small holes), or for general insulation -- as "insulation board" -- in which case it appears as the same fiber material about 3/4" (or 2 cm.) thick, sturdy but bendable, and with one side painted white. So for all pre-2010 editions of the Orgone Accumulator Handbook, the term "Celotex" should be substituted with "Fiberboard".

Another good material for the exterior of orgone accumulators is sometimes called "mason board", which appears a grey-tan color. This material is even more sturdy than the fiber "insulation board", and you need a saw to cut it. In my opinion, it is not so good as the insulation-board for orgone accumulation, but others I know say it is just as good, and even better structurally because it is sturdier and lasts over a long time, while the insulation board tends to shred or crumble on the edges, especially if exposed to moisture or rains, and if not given coats of protective shellac.

Below are photos showing what the various materials look like.

Above you can see a 1-foot square of organic fiberboard-type material,
sold either as "insulation board" or "ceiling tile" material.
This is what the original "celotex" looked like.

Above you can see a 1-foot square of organic "masonboard", which is denser than the fiberboard or insulation-board, and much thinner. From the edge shot, you can see it frays a bit, because it is not as dense as ordinary wood or plywood. Both masonboard and fiberboard materials will absorb a coating of shellac to make very good external layers for orgone accumulator panels and boxes.

Above you can see the exterior sides of an older accumulator I constructed 25 years ago, still working fine. On the left is the celotex material (this variety did not have the speckle holes seen in the first photo above), while on the right side a thinner mason-board was used. Both were given several coats of natural shellac (Bull's Eye brand), giving them a yellowish color.

Also one should avoid what is called, in American hardware stores, "chip-board" or "press-board" which are very heavy materials where you can see the wood-chip structure. Plywood or ordinary wood planks also do not appear to work so well, as wood by itself does not have the higher dielectric properties which are apparent in the fiberboard or masonboard.

This informmation has been corrected in the latest editions of the Orgone Accumulator Handbook, since 2008. If you purchased a copy with this error, return it to us and we will replace it without charge.

WHERE CAN I GET GOOD AND RELIABLE INFORMATION ON WILHELM REICH, ORGONE ENERGY, AND THE ORGONE ENERGY ACCUMULATOR?

A. If you don't already have a copy of the Orgone Accumulator Handbook, copies are available from many on-line catalogs and in bookstores, as well as from the OBRL on-line internet bookstore, here:
http://www.naturalenergyworks.net

B. This same-above internet bookstore also sells many books by Wilhelm Reich, who discovered the orgone energy and invented the orgone energy accumulator. Copies of the OBRL research journal Pulse of the Planet and other books by James DeMeo and other natural scientists are also offered for sale. Also offered are some basic orgone accumulator construction supplies, in case you cannot find them locally, such as steel-wool reels, carded sheep's wool, and wool batting.

3. While your primary interest is probably to get started and build an orgone energy accumulator or blanket, getting the right information and education about the discovery is essential. You should develop your own resource library. Be aware, the best information on Reich and orgonomy is still found in books and printed publications. Using internet as a research source is very risky. Be careful about "Wikipedia" also, which can be modified by anyone, including by Reich's detractors, to distort the facts of his life and work. Also forget "google search" and particularly don't waste your time on the "google ads" claiming to represent Reich and orgone energy research, as they are dominated by fakers and pretenders. Which brings us to the next point:

4. Aside from informing people about the authentic discoveries of Wilhelm Reich, probably the most important point I can make is the following: You must learn to differentiate between Reich's orignal and authentic discoveries on the orgone energy and accumulator -- which are non-mystical and natural scientific in background and nature -- as contrasted to the large number of internet websites and ebay peddlers of phoney gadgets and trinkets abusing Reich's name and discoveries. There simply is an avalanche of total nonsense out on internet. For some basic information on this problem, see here:
http://www.orgonelab.org/orgonenonsense.htm

5. If you review most of what is posted to internet about Reich and orgone, you will find they are very big on making claims, but very weak on providing evidence. Most of it is mystical garbage, not worth anything, and distracts from virtually all of the major issues which were of interest to Dr. Reich in his investigations. Dr. Reich's authentic orgone energy research and discoveries, were the subject of extensive experimental investigation, with publications of experimental articles and clinical reports going back many decades. You can review some of those older materials at the on-line Bibliography on Orgonomy which is now posted to the OBRL website. That Bibliography not only covers the long period of research from Dr. Reich's time, but also work done by various natural scientists and clinicians, doctors, etc., since his death in 1957.

6. Finally, there are some authentic online information resources for the subjects of Wilhelm Reich's discoveries, and about the orgone energy accumulator specifically, which I can recommend. You can review a good listing of these at the OBRL Resources webpage, which can be found here:
http://www.orgonelab.org/resources.htm

Our intention is to update this webpage with additional information from time to time. But in fact we are just getting started on this task.

Also be sure to review the various items on the left-side column, which contain a LOT of information on Wilhelm Reich, Orgonomy, and related subjects. If you really get fired-up about this subject, then consider also to attend the yearly OBRL Summer Laboratory Seminar for which Dr. DeMeo acts as instructor. A full description of that event is found here:
http://www.orgonelab.org/events.htm

Also take a periodic look at Dr. DeMeo's publication's list, here:
http://www.orgonelab.org/demeopubs.htm or here:
http://www.researchgate.net/profile/James_DeMeo
New articles are published every so often, and typically contain some of the most advance research on orgone biophysics.
